16 March, 2008

A cold, late winter, upper low pressure system triggered thunderstorms across portions of Southern California during the weekend of March 15 & 16, 2008. Thunderstorms on Sunday were scattered across most areas of the Inland Empire and northern San Diego County, as well as eastern LA County, and Orange County. Storms formed along the back side of the Santa Ana Mtns and in Temescal Valley and rolled Southwestward into Orange County. Note the similarity of these storm clouds to the "Super Outbeak" storm clouds.
