Microburst over Perris, Ca - August 6, 2005

Severe thunderstorms spawned over the Hemet and Perris areas on Saturday, August 6, 2005 during a strong southeasterly monsoon flow. Perris was particularly hammered with a storm that dumped rain at a rate of nearly 3 inches per hr according to doppler radar estimates causing significant street flooding around the airport area. Dime sized hail was reported along A Sreet as well. High winds toppled power lines along San Jacinto Ave east of I-215 knocking out power throughout the area for several hours
